Contact Practice Ounce
You can reach our editorial desk at editor@practiceounce.com.
Email the desk
The only mailbox for this desk is editor@practiceounce.com. We read every message, but we do not promise a response time, because we are a small team and sometimes receive more mail than we can answer quickly.
Please write in English. If you are reporting an error, include the page URL and the sentence you believe is wrong, so we can check it against our source documents.
What we will help with
We welcome corrections, feedback on clarity, and questions about our methodology or the facts we have published. If you have found a broken link or a typo, please tell us.
We also read suggestions for topics, but we do not accept guest posts or sponsored reviews. No payment will ever change our editorial decisions, and we will not publish content that is paid for by a broker.
What we cannot help with
We are not a broker, so we cannot open accounts, process deposits, or recover funds. If you have an account problem with FxPro or any other broker, contact their support team directly.
We also do not give personal advice. We cannot tell you whether to trade gold, what position size to use, or whether a broker is right for you. Any decision to trade is yours alone.
What to include when you write to us
For any question about using Practice Ounce, include your account type, the platform you are on (MT4, MT5, cTrader, or FxPro Edge), and the exact instrument code XAU/USD if it relates to gold. This lets us check the right settings without asking you for more details. If you are asking about a trade, add the ticket number from the platform’s history tab so we can see the same record you see. For questions about funding, name the method you used: card, bank transfer, or e-wallet. Do not send your password or full card number; we never need those to help you.
For a request about how margin is calculated on gold, state the lot size you traded or plan to trade, such as 0.10 lots, and the leverage shown on your account. With the reference price of XAU/USD near 4275.0, we can then explain the margin amount for your specific case. If you are asking about the UAE bank transfer option, tell us which bank you sent from and the date of the transfer. This helps us trace the payment if it has not arrived. For any platform error, include a screenshot of the full window, not just the error message, so we can see the context.
For questions about FxPro’s regulation in the UAE, you do not need to send any documents. Just mention that you are asking about FxPro Global Markets MENA Ltd, and we will confirm the licensing details: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA. If you are asking about leverage limits, tell us the instrument and your account type. The maximum leverage available in the UAE is up to 1:500 on standard forex accounts, within DFSA/SCA-compliant limits, and it varies by instrument. For gold, the margin at 0.10 lots with that leverage is about $85.50, but we will check the current rate for you.
Where we draw the line on advice
We cannot tell you whether to buy or sell gold, or any other instrument, and we cannot predict price movements. Practice Ounce is an educational resource, not a financial adviser. We can explain how a gold trade works: one standard lot is 100 ounces, one pip is 0.01, and the reference price is near 4275.0. We can show you how to calculate the value of a pip move or the margin needed for a given lot size. But the decision to enter or exit a trade must be yours, based on your own research and risk tolerance.
We can answer factual questions about costs, but we will not rate them as good or bad. For example, we can tell you what a spread consists of and what it depends on, such as market liquidity and the time of day, but we will not say whether the spread on gold is low or competitive. The same applies to swaps and commissions: we can explain how they are charged, but we will not compare them to other brokers or give a personal recommendation. Our role is to give you the facts so you can judge for yourself.
We cannot manage your account, place trades, or recover lost funds. If you have a dispute with a trade execution, we can explain how to read the platform’s log files, but we cannot intervene with the broker on your behalf. We also cannot provide legal or tax advice. For questions about how trading profits are taxed in the UAE, you should consult a local tax professional. We will, however, point you to official sources where possible. Our help is limited to educational explanations and factual clarifications about the mechanics of trading gold with FxPro.
How long a reply normally takes
We aim to answer every email within one business day. Business days for us are Monday to Friday, excluding UAE public holidays. If you write to us on a Friday afternoon, you may receive a reply on the following Monday. The response time does not depend on the type of question; it is the same for simple and complex queries. We do not have a separate priority queue. If your question is urgent, such as a funding issue, please say so in the subject line, but the reply time remains the same.
The actual time can vary depending on how many emails we receive that day and whether we need to check a specific fact with the broker. For example, if you ask about a margin calculation that requires us to confirm the current leverage for your account type, it may take a little longer than a simple question about pip values. We will not send a partial answer. We will wait until we have the correct information. If we need more details from you, we will ask for them in our first reply, and the clock restarts from your response.
We do not offer live chat or phone support. All contact is by email, and the response time is the same for everyone. If you have not received a reply after two business days, check your spam folder first. Then write to us again with the same subject line and add the word follow-up. Do not send multiple follow-ups in the same day; that does not speed up the process. We read every email in the order it arrives, and we will get to yours. The only exception is if our email system is down, in which case we will post a notice on the Practice Ounce website.
Requesting a correction on Practice Ounce
If you believe an article on Practice Ounce contains a factual error, email us with the exact sentence or paragraph and the URL of the page. We will check the statement against our sources and the facts we have on record. For example, if an article states a wrong pip value for gold, we will verify it: one pip for XAU/USD is 0.01, and one standard lot is 100 ounces. If the article is wrong, we will correct it and add a note at the bottom of the page explaining what was changed and when.
Corrections are handled by the editorial team, not the person who wrote the original article. We will not remove an article simply because you disagree with its tone or emphasis; we only correct factual errors. If the error is about a number, such as a leverage ratio or a margin requirement, we will fix it within two business days of confirming the mistake. For example, the maximum leverage available in the UAE is up to 1:500 on standard forex accounts, within DFSA/SCA-compliant limits, and it varies by instrument. If an article stated a different number, we would correct it.
We do not charge for corrections, and you do not need to be a registered user to request one. After a correction is made, we will reply to your email with a link to the updated page. If we find that the original text was correct, we will explain why and cite the source. We will not enter into a long debate; one reply is enough. For serious errors that could mislead traders, such as a wrong lot size or pip value, we will also add a prominent correction notice at the top of the article for 30 days. After that, the notice moves to the bottom.
What we will not respond to
We do not respond to messages that ask for personal trading advice, such as what lot size to use or whether to hold a gold position overnight. We also do not respond to requests for investment recommendations or price predictions. If your email contains such a question, we will reply with a link to our educational articles on risk management, but we will not give a direct answer. The only exception is if you ask a factual question that can be answered without giving advice, such as how to calculate the margin for a 0.10-lot gold trade at a given leverage.
We do not respond to spam, unsolicited promotions, or emails that contain abusive language. We also do not respond to requests for backlinks, guest posts, or advertising. Practice Ounce is an independent educational site, and we do not sell links or accept sponsored content. If you are contacting us on behalf of a broker other than FxPro, we will not discuss partnership opportunities. Our contact page is for readers who have questions about the content on this site or about trading gold with FxPro in the UAE.
We do not respond to questions that are already answered in our articles. Before writing to us, please use the search bar on the site to check if your question is covered. For example, if you ask what one pip of gold is worth, the answer is in our gold trading guide: one pip is 0.01, and the value depends on your lot size and the USD/AED rate. We will not repeat that in an email. If you cannot find the answer, then write to us, and we will help. This keeps the inbox clear for genuine questions that are not answered anywhere else.
What to send for each kind of question
For a factual error on a page, send the exact URL, the sentence or number you believe is wrong, and the source you rely on. If the issue is a broken link or a missing image, tell us which page and which element failed, and add the browser and device you used. We check every report against the original source or the live page before changing anything.
For a question about how a trading concept works, describe the specific term or example that confused you, and quote the sentence where you got lost. You do not need to send your account details or any broker documents. A short question about margin, leverage, or a pip is easier to answer quickly than a long story about your trade.
For a complaint about a broker or a platform, send the broker name, the date of the event, and what you already tried with the broker’s support team. We cannot open a case for you, but we can explain the normal process for a complaint with that broker or point you to the regulator caveat we publish. We do not ask for your password or any payment details.
What we can and cannot answer
We can answer questions about how gold trading works on Practice Ounce: what a standard lot means, how margin is calculated at the leverage cap, what a pip is worth, and how local funding methods like UAE bank transfer work. We can explain the broker’s platforms and the regulator caveat for the UAE, and we can clarify any number we have already published.
We cannot give personal trading advice. We will not tell you whether to buy or sell XAU/USD, how much to risk, or which lot size to use for your account. We also cannot predict prices or guarantee any outcome. If you ask for a signal or a recommendation, we will reply with a plain explanation of the risk and the factors that affect gold, but never a call to action.
We cannot answer questions about your individual broker account, because we do not have access to it. For balance, deposit, withdrawal, or a blocked order, you must contact the broker’s support directly. We can tell you what the normal process is and what documents a broker usually asks for, but we cannot act on your behalf or speed up a case.
Response time to expect
We usually reply within two working days for a simple factual question or a correction request. If you write on a Friday afternoon or during a UAE public holiday, the reply may take longer because the desk is not staffed. We do not promise an answer within hours, and we never give a time-sensitive trading signal, so a delayed reply will not affect a live trade.
For a complex question about margin, leverage, or a calculation, we may take up to five working days. We check the formula and the broker’s current settings before we answer, because a wrong number on a beginner page causes real harm. If we need to ask a colleague or the broker, we will tell you in the first reply that we are still working on it.
We do not use autoresponders that promise a reply in minutes. Every email is read by a person, and we answer in the order received. If your question is urgent and about a live trade or a blocked withdrawal, contact your broker’s support directly, because we are not a dealing desk and we cannot act on an account.
How a correction request is handled
When you send a correction, we open a ticket with the page URL and the exact claim. The editor checks the source you provided and the original data we used. If the error is a number, like a pip value or a margin figure, we recalculate it before changing anything. We do not edit a page based on a single email without verification.
If we confirm the error, we fix the text and add a note in the page history, but we do not announce the correction publicly unless the error was material and could have misled a trader. We reply to you with the change we made and the date. If we disagree with your correction, we explain why and keep the source we relied on.
We do not remove a page or hide a past error just because it is embarrassing. If a number was wrong for a week, we say so in the correction note. We also fix the same error on any other page that repeats it, because a beginner may read three pages and trust a wrong margin figure on all of them.
Your gold trading setup with FxPro
FxPro offers MT4, MT5, cTrader, and FxPro Edge for XAU/USD, with funding by UAE bank transfer, cards, and e-wallets. Remember that leverage up to 1:500 is a cap, not a target, and trading gold carries high risk.
